Where is the limit of a hermit? A real hermit doesn't have internet, so won't be able to write a comment here.

My workplace is my own and I work alone. Apart from shopping at the store, I rarely meet people. My acquaintances, whom I rarely meet, only exist because of work.
I talk to people for half a minute a week. I can only talk to my dogs. I've been living like this for 16 years.
Is that enough of a hermit?

Personally I’m very similar and yes I believe this makes you (and me) a flavor of hermit.

I have a hermit lifestyle and I’m zoo exclusive. No it is not by choice, I wish it was different.

I find my relationship with animals very simple. Vs human women are complex. Don’t get me started on the generational aspect

You are becoming more and more likeable.

Lets see, I live alone in the middle of nowhere with just my animal companions, rarely interact with anyone outside of work or shopping, does that mean I'm a hermit? Personally I'm just extremely antisocial and it's only gotten worse the older I get and the more partners I've had to say goodbye to.

Why would you live like a hermit? Are you on a spiritual or philosophical journey? I guess maybe some are...
Because most people make me want to go:

Most people are a danger to my animals either out of stupidity or malice, so if people tend to be the main problem, and you can't get ride of them, your only option is to remove your self from them!

In my vast experience with dealing with humans in various fields I have 0 illusions on what lurks beneath that veneer that gives people the illusion of safety.

that and I like to do a lot of shooting, they tend to take issue with that in towns.

ya, when you start wanting to answer the door with a howitzer feeling, I need the "Get off my lawn 4K Ultra"

very little in so called society worth saving at this point, the sheep dogs and horses are of superior quality for company more oft than not.

try to offer advice just to get more whining from some wanabe zoo just starting deff doesn't help the levels of shits given.

I would love too move out in the fields somewhere and buy a farm with lots of mares and bitches. But i would have to give up on my other dreams and life first...

My human network is rather limited. I meet colleagues the day I work in the office but don't stay late to go to the pub after work. I also meet people when I'm out shopping for groceries or when I go to the yard but that's it. Even when I am in a crowd of people, I always end up alone while the others congregate in their little groups for chitchat. Maintaining friendships is very difficult for me. It can take days or weeks for me to reply to an email. Whether this makes me a hermit or not, I leave that for others to decide.
