How do you address the "norms"?

So I'm wondering how everyone responds to questions when either in person or on social media when the conversation about kinks come up. How do you test the waters before mentioning zoo or does it ever come up? Since in my opinion if it's not involving zoo everything else seems normal (except for scat and piss I see that as extreme) so I don't see "normal acts" as kinky.
 
Yeah i would just talk about the "normal acts". Depending on how the convo goes maybe make a joke about seeing a woman take a big horse cock or something. Most people, at least my age, have seen quite a lot of "shock" content online.

Honestly though, a specific topic of "kinks" has never come up in my life. My buddies don't care what gets my dick hard, nor I theirs.

You're right about shock content, hell I remember comedy shows on tv referencing some sort of zoo acts.

I took that approach, luckily it wasn't in person and I asked their thoughts on furries. They responded like whatever, didn't seem to be bothered, but I touched on the idea of an act between the real thing k9 and a person and man that took a turn. Immediately shaming me, threatening to expose me, but luckily it was on a dating forum, used minimal information to create an account so able to delete and disappear.

Not to sound sexually conceited, since everyone has their limits, but do you still try to carry on a conversation even though knowing their sexual level or interests doesn't match yours?

I still remember drinking at my totally straight buddy's house once, maybe around 19 or 20 years old, and him going on an absolute mission to find the "mr hands" video. The one where the guy supposedly died after taking a horse. Me and another friend were drinking in the living room and after about an hour he finally called out to us in excitement that he found it.
