Help me settle on a breed!

Hi all-
So I'm finally getting to a point in my life where I can start thinking seriously about finding a canine companion
I'm looking for a male dog.
Big things are short(er) coat and intelligence. I'm very good with training and want to teach him lots of cool things (in addition to the fun stuff!)


My short list so far is:
Border Collie
Pit bull terrier
Australian Shepherd
Catahoula Leopard Dog
Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog (I was worried they may be on the small side but I have heard people say they've had good experiences with them)

I'd love to hear some pros and cons and any other suggestions!

FORGET em all and go look at an NSDTR, also known as a Toller. Let one into your life and you'll never even SEE another dog.

I'd say either border collie or Australian shepherd

What is your personality like? How active are you , what do you do with time off?

How's your attitude.

At 2 years old, I do not think he is still making that decision.
