Do you think you would date someone from this group?

I’m not against it at all. Means that awkward conversation is already avoided because we know we share this kink. But been such a long time since I’ve dated anyone in general so it’d have to be the right fit.

I’ve been around this forum for a few years now, mostly quietly, occasionally chatting, and even meeting a few local guys. While there have been some fun moments, most connections have faded, which honestly has been discouraging. Except for one interaction, it’s felt like I’m throwing energy into something that disappears the moment I look away.

Part of it, I think, is just how we communicate these days. Everything’s fast, fleeting, and transactional. Instant gratification has kind of replaced the slower process of getting to know someone, of building something real (romantic or platonic). And that’s tough when what you’re looking for isn’t *just* a kink / hookup buddy, but someone you can actually connect with emotionally, intellectually, and sure, physically too if the vibe is there.

For me, this lifestyle isn’t just a side interest it’s part of how I relate to intimacy. But I’m also someone who craves conversation, trust, a bit of silliness, and the kind of connection that’s built over time.

I definitely won’t give up hope but… but I ain’t getting any younger and I know I can’t date someone who’s not a zoo 😑
Dobie,
this is well said and understand that completely. While I am married to a man that is not a zoo, happened before I became honest with myself. I long for friends who are like me to help fill that emotional and physical connection.
Like you someday I long for that great friend, no a hook up. Those days are long gone. I want something more meaningful.
And definitely don't give up hope.
Love ya,
a friend in western Washington.
