Nah, in this case I meant that I almost never see foxes around. I maybe see one once a year around here. I've even gone out print tracking in the snow a few times to see if I could track one to their den, but each time yielded nothing. Them bois be elusive!Suuuuure you didn't mean it like that lol.
Dang, I'm surprised you don't see them much out there. I used to see them a lot, pretty much daily. I too used to go print tracking, good fun there. Had a spot I could go sit and watch a few. Miss that a lot.104801

Unfortunately not around here. That's why I always get so excited when I see them about. I've heard in areas where coyotes and foxes both exist it's not uncommon to see foxes temporarily call your porch a temporary den if their actual den was raided by a coyote, because foxes know that coyotes try to stay away from us as much as possible.Dang, I'm surprised you don't see them much out there. Yeah foxes are smart, I've seen them on porches before too. Even living under them permanently.104 808 Kick Drum

I think the last time I saw one was in like October strolling through my neighborhood while I was grilling at 3am in the morning. It's also why I told the chat "OMG y'all, I just saw a fox!" because prior to that it had been like 2 years since I saw one.
Indeed, surprisingly so actually. The Encephalization Quotient (EQ) often (although there are some exceptions) correlates with the intelligence of an animal species. Horses are at an EQ of 0.7 to 0.78, while cats are around 1.0. Most dogs are at 1.2. The EQ of a red fox... 1.6! Which is actually surprising. Still no match to the humans though which are around 7.4 to 7.8, but it's still pretty impressive for the fox.Yeah foxes are smart
I hope so as well! It's always a nice sight!Well I hope you get to see one again soon!
