Active Zoo's with a human partner as well

If you are an active zoo in a relationship and also have a human partner as well, does that human partner actively participate in your zoo relationship or are they just an observer watching you more or less.
If they take an observer role or similar, are you OK with that or would you rather they take a more active interest in your zoo relationship?
